Ankhiya Bhaona – Parijat Haran is a classical Assamese theatrical form rooted in the devotional and performative traditions envisioned by Srimanta Sankardeva. Through codified movement, expressive gesture, music, and collective rhythm, bhaona transforms mythological narratives into living theatre.
Presented at the 25th edition of Bharat Rang Mahotsav, 2026, and directed by Ruplekha Borbora Das, this production by Srimanta Nrityapith, Dibrugarh brings the spiritual and aesthetic depth of Assamese theatre to the national stage.
